Jane's Summer Drink (Alcoholic or Non)
Our garden is full of lemons, cucumbers and peppers right now (amongst other things), so I have everything I need to make my Official Beverage of Summer! This drink is fresh, spicy and tart, just like yours truly. It takes a little time to prep the ingredients, but once that's done, simply combine and enjoy! You can make this drink boozy or not--it's delightful either way!
Jane's Summer Drink
2 parts fresh lemon juice
2 parts fresh cucumber juice (puree/process cucumbers, strain out pulp)
1 part jalapeno simple syrup (recipe below)
2 parts OTHER (ie, club soda if you're good, vodka or bourbon if you're nasty)
(More) Club soda to taste
To make: mix all of the above in a glass over ice. Stir. Add club soda to taste.
Jalapeno simple syrup: Simmer 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and sliced jalapenos in a sauce pan until sugar is dissolved and the spice level is to your taste. Strain into jar and do whatever you please with the leftover candied peppers.
