***Hi folks! Sorry I had to reschedule but unfortunately Covid decided to mess up all of my plans. I hope you will still join me if you’re local!***
About: This year for my-ahem-- 45th birthday I’ll be running the stairs at La Playa Stadium to raise money for the Grace Fisher Foundation. I have two goals:
1) to run at least 50 rounds (up/down) in 90 minutes
2) to raise at least $1000 for the Grace Fisher Foundation!
Want to contribute? Here’s what you can do!
Sponsor an amount per round—it can be a little as a quarter per round. I won’t set any upper bounds on ya. ;)
Cheer me on for climb day — come join me at the stadium for high fives, run a round with me, or just take in the views at the gorgeous stadium
Join in the climb — set a goal for yourself, get people to sponsor you, and then do the dang thing! You can run solo or get a group of friends together. The more the merrier!
Location: SBCC La Playa Stadium (look for Jane inside the stadium near the bottom of the seats)
After we’ll all done climbing, we’ll head over to Shoreline Cafe to celebrate!
About the charity:
The Grace Fisher Foundation is a Santa Barbara nonprofit that “exists to connect people living with disabilities to music, art, dance, and other forms of artistic expression in order to provide an accessible space for community inclusion, education, creation, and self-discovery.”
In 2014, Grace Fisher suffered from a virus that left her paralyzed from the neck down. She was later diagnosed with Acute Flaccid Myelitis. During her rehabilitation she was introduced to music therapy and adaptive art, which strengthened both her body and spirit. When approached by the Make a Wish foundation in 2018, her wish was to help other children with disabilities through art and music as a way of paying her transformative experience forward.
